Observing people around us -Poor Children- Part 1 - Vivpost

CHILD COLLECTING PLASTIC BOTTLES
Ever seen a child collecting trash at railway stations or roads? Just observe the smile on his/her face when he/she finds a plastic bottle or some important(for him) items. Ever seen a child beggar at traffic signals asking for food or money? There is two different situation which I describe here but the main objective is the same ie. surviving. It may be possible that the child is a victim of some kind of group that abducts children and forces them to beg or works for them. They may be economically backward and that forces them to work or beg. There may be any reason for their actions but the main concern is that they are working. Get your attention to the word "WORKING", at the age of 5 or 7 they start begging or picking trash.
CHILDREN AS Rag-pickers

The age where they should start schooling or start their education, they start picking up trash. Children working in factories or harmful cracker factories which set them free to lung infections and cause several problems in near future. Several efforts were made by Government to stop Child Labour and about 70% they worked but now the trend shifted towards asking children to pick trash or beg. There is a huge organization working to make money from children, many traffickers were caught and punished in a few years.

The main reason for their working is poverty and population that I summed up in my previous post.   Read it and understand Poverty in India.

What is the important or precious thing we can give to these children is education? Yes, we can educate them. Learning basic knowledge help them survive this world,
OLD NEWSPAPERS AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS COLLECTOR

Let me tell you a story, One day I was clearing out my old notebooks and newspapers and thinking of giving it to a Garbageman for some extra money, he is of about 15 years, I gave him my old notebooks and newspaper. He looked at them and got happy, I thought he must have seen some funny articles but actually he is happy about getting notebooks that may be used for studying, then he lifted his shirt to take out the money, I saw a scar and that scar is of surgery, a surgery mark on his left side that must be a kidney. He sold his kidney, can you believe it? He was brainwashed that one kidney does not cause any problem and you can get money from it. He must have rarely got Rs 10000/- for selling his kidney (I guess so, not sure), there must be a racket behind who traps children in need and collects organs from them and sells it to the black market or foreign markets.

I hope that you too observed some people around you and their activities, tell me your story. Till then keep reading vivpost.
